Publisher ‏ : ‎ MACK BOOKS; 2nd edition (November 1, 2012)
Language ‏ : ‎ English
Paperback ‏ : ‎ 104 pages
ISBN-10 ‏ : ‎ 1907946241
ISBN-13 ‏ : ‎ 978-1907946240
Dimensions ‏ : ‎ 0.43 x 7.95 x 10.63 inches

In 1978, Luigi Ghirri self-published his groundbreaking book, Kodachrome, a manifesto for photography and a cornerstone of his career. Out of print for years, MACK proudly presents the second edition on the 20th anniversary of Ghirri’s passing.

‘Ghirri fights to maintain our ability to see. His works are powerful devices for the re-education of the gaze. They alter the perception we have of the world without proposing a single path to follow, rather they provide us with the tools we need to find the one we’re looking for.’ — Francesco Zanot

Ghirri's images, reminiscent of an amateur photo-album, capture the Italian landscape through tightly cropped scenes, revealing the essence of daily life. This new edition, a facsimile of the original, preserves Ghirri’s vision while utilizing modern technology for enhanced printing quality. Accompanied by an essay by Francesco Zanot, offering a contemporary perspective, it also includes French and German translations of the original texts.
