Publisher ‏ : ‎EDICIONES LARIVIERE; 1st edition (November 20, 2011)

Hardcover ‏112 pages

“Echoes from the Interior” is a look at time, at the deep interior of Argentina and its history, as its living heritage is reflected in sensitive iconic sites, ancestral practices and devotional objects that defy time and cultural identity. Martin Weber presents a kind of past that does not precede the present, a past that persists and inhabits that present wildly, as if the failure of any illusion of progress would have altered the neat line between before and after.  This work was made between 1995 and 2002, before the fall of one presidency, which was followed by four more in just one week.

“Echoes of the Interior” was nominated in Paris Photo in the top 100 photo books published between 1997 and 2011.

Martín Weber has received numerous accolades throughout his career, including the International Award in Photography by CRAF/Italy (2019), the Grand Prize on Installations and Alternative Media in Argentina (2016), the Silver Eye Award (2008), and the Fundación Klemm Prize (1999). He has also been the recipient of grants from prestigious organizations such as the Prince Claus Fund (2004), the Guggenheim Foundation (1998), the Magnum Foundation Fund (2018), and the No Strings Foundation (2005), among others. Weber has participated in artist residencies at MAC and D21 Santiago/Chile (2014), CPW/Woodstock (2004), Light Work/Syracuse (2002), and IASPIS/Stockholm (1998).
