Gerhard Richter has created a book featuring 285 abstract photographs of the forest near his home in Cologne. The book also includes shuffled and edited text from a German forestry magazine and is organized into horizontal strips arranged according to certain parameters. Richter disrupts this structure by allowing the pages to gradually fill and then empty with text, creating a fading in and out of images. The only fully filled page appears in the middle of the book. This book is only available in German. This book, published in 2008, is a rare and highly sought-after edition.
